Description
The Adventure. We start the activity at 8:00 AM from Tortuguero Main dock or your hotel if requested in the reservation. From the main dock we start a boat safari along the Tortuguero Channels for Wildlife for about 1 hour, at 9:00 AM we arrive to the Tortuguero Hill for a Hike, we hike the San Francisco Native Village for a cultural visit and continue the hike to the top of the Tortuguero Hill. After the Tortuguero Hill we head for Caño Palma Creek at 11:00 AM, this creek has a particular water color which creates a mirror like effect reflecting the jungle on the water, it is amazing. In Caño Palma we do boat safari to see as many species we can see including, spider, howler, capuchin monkeys, different toucans, Basilisk, Caimans, Crocodiles, Iguanas, Turtles, Butterflies, Otters, Tiger Herons, Blue herons and Egrets, different Kingfishers, Spiders, Ants, Jacanas, Anhingas, frogs, woodpeckers, Guans, sloths, tiger heron and more. At around 12:00 PM we arrive to the local family organic farm. We harvest coconuts and water to drink and taste, visit the beach. The local villager cooks for us fresh Tortillas in a wood stove and also teaches to our visitor how to do theirs and cook them (Give yourself a try). She also cook chicken or fish for us with salad some rice, beans and of course Tortillas to make a “Gallito”, way we ticos called a Mexican like taco. We drink the local lemonade which is made with ginger and sugar cane sweet called “Agua Sapo”, yes, “Toad Water”, probably due to the color, but it us one the most refreshing an delicious drink on earth. Coffee is served around 2:30 with local bread, biscuits or homemade bread. At 3:00 PM We visit Laguna 4, an amazing paces of small water creeks located in the middle of thousand of forest with the characteristic mirror like water color, flora and fauna. We return to the Tortuguero Village at 4:00 PM and the tour fishing around 4:30 PM -5:00 PM in Tortuguero Village.
